Rubber mat seems the wise man’s choice.
Mental note to Kris and myself: if we’re going up there later this year, make sure it’s a heavy rubber mat to avoid heavy slippage on the by-then-perhaps-frozen boards.

That video was a great way to show off the rack. Looks ideal.

Holy shit, Kris! You’ve gots to get some rubber mats there. Good thing for a solid rack.
The bench shrugs look really intriguing. When I do overloads for the bench, I shrug the weight off the j hooks. The one advantage I’ve found is that at the bottom of the bench, when I contract my lats, that same shrugging motion gives me about an inch or two of launch before my triceps kick in. I will have to think of using that as an assistance movement. Thanks for the vid.

Rubber mat problem now fixed at Toffegym.
I believe Kris’ll be updating soon with pics and so on of our late-night training session…
However, lemme comment early on that running to catch the train with a near two-meter (6 feet) length of heavy-duty rubber mat on a roll on your shoulder is a tough aerobic workout.

Man, I have to say. Of all the lifting blogs out there, yours has to have the most picturesque backgrounds for lifting.
Is it as inspirational as it looks, I’m guessing it’s a nicer view than the usual gym vista.
