I don’t know if you plan on putting a piece of pipe around the side bottom. But it might be a good idea to have it with some space between the bar and base. This way you’ll be able to tie bands around the bottom to do squats with.

I do want side pipes to stabilize the rack, but was actually planning on having them underneath the base. I want an open base rack that allows for wide squatting and sumo deadlifting, unlike the one in Helsinki which has pipes in the way. I plan to get another set of pins anyway, which hopefully could be used to tie bands to as long as I make sure I have holes low enough.
